A Voice for You!

Platform

I've been working hard on the City Council for the past four years and I want to continue the good work that makes this a wonderful community.  I believe in working as a team and building consensus to get things done.  I make well-informed and thoughtful decisions by asking questions and understanding the issues.  I am accessible and responsive to community input and I treat everyone with respect and value all opinions.  Our Community of Character traits are important to me in public service and I embody the traits, especially respect, honesty, compassion, and integrity.  I seek and encourage all perspectives and I remain committed to representing you on the Council.

1) Address Pleasanton's water issues, including the PFAS issues - It is important to have clean and safe water.  Advocating for infrastructure and ensuring we have an adequate supply is of utmost importance to all.  I will continue to make this the most important issue.

2) Smart Growth.  The recent (unfunded) state mandates are taking away local control of housing decisions.  I am in favor of continuing to push back and have local municipalities make decisions that are best for their cities.  Affordable housing is an issue that must be addressed, but we should be working together and seeking viable solutions.

3) Public Safety - Our safety and well-being is another priority of utmost importance.  93 percent of residents here feel safe and as a person who has family members in law enforcement, we must continue to advocate for a safe community.

4) High quality public education - As a former School Board member, I value public education since a society benefits from a well-educated workforce and citizenry.  Partnering as much as possible with the school district to ensure that we provide an award-winning educational program tto our youth is what I will continue doing.

I'm always open to hearing from residents and businesses  (and I include my cell phone on my business card) as to what we can do to promote our high quality of life in our great city.
